Process: Day 3
Wow! You're almost done with your task to create learning resources for a Paul Revere textbook. Now, it's time for the final, and most important part of this project. Based on all of the information you have learned about Paul Revere, you will create a logo or design to print on the cover of the textbook. This should be a symbolic representation of his life and his impact on America. You should synthesize all the information you have learned for this task and apply it in this design. Think about the events of his life and how his actions helped America gain independence. This logo can be any shape or color, and you can pick which resource (listed at the bottom of the page) you would like to use for this design. Take a look at some of these symbolic logos and designs to get ideas for your product...
This is a Paul Revere logo created by another student. It shows Paul Revere, on his horse and the Capitol of the United States. Do you notice that the American flag is in the middle of the Capitol? Do you notice that Paul Revere, on his horse, is in all black (could that be because it was a "midnight" ride)?

This is a logo for the United States Marine Corps. It is printed at the top of all papers related to the Marine Corps. Notice all the details... At the center is the Earth, with North America being the country of focus (because the Marine Corps protect and fight for America). The anchor on the bottom left corner symbolizes the Navy, they primarily work on ships and in water. The Eagle, at the top symbolizes liberty and freedom that the Marines fight for each day. Do you see any other symbolic features in this logo? |
This is an abolitionist logo created many years ago. It was used in the fight against slavery and slavery-like practices. The artist designed this to inspire others to fight for an end to slavery. Notice the chains around this man's hands and feet. What do you think that mean? Look at how he is kneeling, do you think that means something? What about the phrase at the bottom, what is the meaning of it? |
